On September 10th 2025, the infamous far-right political figure, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated at a University in Utah during his “American Comeback” tour. One shot to the neck, bursting in blood, similar to the thousands of Palestinian children killed on their homeland for simply existing and American children for just going to school but who cares about that, the point is that he was still a person, he was a father. Following his death, there were mixed reactions, more or less. One side of people celebrated the death of the genocide sympathizer while the other, which I would say is the majority (for some reason), defended his name and reputation. And yes, this majority included liberals, of course.
Charlie Kirk was viciously racist, misogynistic, Islamophobic, homophobic, anti-Palestinian, yadayadayada. In case it wasn’t obvious by now, he was a white supremacist, and an influential one at that. Something that his mourners, who claim to have “disagreed with his views”, seem to forget is how powerful he actually was. Charlie Kirk became a household name with around 19 million followers across platforms before his death. After his death, well thats a separate conversation. Since the assassination, Charlie Kirks followers have surged like crazy. His instagram following doubled in 6 days. His TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube all climbed by millions. And that is just followers, views and likes across platforms increased massively from September 10th to September 16th. The influence Charlie Kirk had and still has even after his death is incredible, and I do not mean that in a good way. The argument of “but he was a person” or “oh he was a father” have no bearing in this case unfortunately because he was a terrible person who made it his life mission to spread his hatred against people different to him.
Once Kirk said that there is no such thing as a Palestinian, this is the man some of ya’ll are empathizing with. Someone who believes other humans shouldn’t exist. The most ironic thing are his last words. It was an exchange between him and an audience member and it went like this:
Audience member: “Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?”
Kirk: “Too many.”
Audience member (something along the lines of): There have been 5 in 10 years, do you know how many mass shootings there had been in the time?
Kirk: “Counting or not counting gang violence?”
And then, death.
If that isn’t poetic justice, I don’t know what is. I mean come on, talking about gun violence, trying to blame it on gangs and then being shot and killed by a white guy. The whole situation when you think about it is hilarious, and yes I will say it again, hilarious.
Back to the liberal mourning, let’s analyze some other common comments on this situation. “No one deserves to die from gun violence.” “No one deserves to die because of this beliefs.” You know, the classic peace but no justice neutral bullshit. What happened to Kirk was resistance, and no, resistance is not always peaceful. Additionally, there was a lot of talk about how the video of Charlie Kirk being killed was so graphic and unbearable to watch which is funny because the same people saying that have just been conveniently ignoring the countless number of videos coming out of Palestine that are actually unbearable to watch. Two years of live streamed genocide, of children being shot in the neck amongst the unending list of atrocities committed against the Palestinian people. Instead of feeling uncomfortable seeing a white supremacist dying and airing it out to the public, you should probably educate yourself first on what is going on in Palestine and focus on that instead. This goes especially for those to claim to have hated him as a person because if that was really the case you should feel no sympathy for him at all. If you know about everything he advocated for and still feel bad for him then you are just as bad as his supporters unfortunately because why is a white supremacist dying matter so much more to you than hundreds of thousands of people, of an entire ethnicity being wiped out? It’s like saying rest in peace Hitler, he didn’t deserve to die, he was still a person.
