Almost two years of live streamed genocide paid for by your hard earned American tax dollars and you said nothing because the situation is “complicated” and you don’t like to be “political”. What wasn’t complicated nor political however was your full-fledged support for the war criminals who committed these atrocities. Living in the heart of Palestinian protests, New York City, you never thought to join a single protest. As a student, you never cared to support other fellow students when they were being attacked by the police and their own schools. You did however jump to join a pro-America protest against our current president, but not because of his hand in supporting a genocidal state, but because of what he is doing to your rights. So quick you are to resist for your rights but so quick you are to condemn resistance on the other side of the world. The self-obsessed performative activism we are witnessing here in New York City is run by the people who turned a blind eye to real beheaded babies, charred mothers, limbless fathers, orphaned daughters, and bombed sons.
Your democratic candidates that orchestrated the modern holocaust and normalized this heartless behavior paved the way for Trump to be where he is today. The democrats failure in putting a non-genocidal candidate up against Trump is the reason Harris so terribly lost. Biden and Harris from October 7th, 2023 till Trump came into office, relentlessly gassed and arrested their voters: student protesters. Now, we see these same protesters being kidnapped and ready to be deported by the Trump administration. Oh and these people who protested for Palestine that are at risk of being deported will never be mentioned in your liberal protests because they simply do not matter to you. The radical left that Trump is attacking today are the same people that were being attacked under the Biden administration for protesting against colonialism and genocide. Same tactics, same beliefs, same goals.
“Protect our Education” slogans that came out of your mouths but you never once cared to educate yourselves on the “complicated” situation that the whole world turned to watch. The blatant censorship that has been taking place since October the 7, that started with Biden, doesn’t seem to be included in your message to protect education, does it? Your ignorance in learning about the true history of Palestine, including the Nakba, before calling out Palestinian protesters for being wrong is an attack on your own education, by your own doing.
“Protect our immigrants” you say as you ignore all the students and teachers disappearing for their stance on Palestine despite having green cards and visas. The weaponization of the antisemitism that you supported by staying silent and only grieving the white hostages continues to affect those who are being deported today. People are being deported for being “anti-American” on the basis of being antisemitic and a threat to this country (for speaking up against Israel). Yes, by you not speaking up for Palestine all this time and still not today, you are supporting the Trump administration and its heinous acts against our protesters.
Since before October 7th and all these publicity stunts to put the blame on Palestinians while Palestinian land is being colonized at the fastest rate ever before, Palestinians have been begging you to speak up and have some empathy for their children. After October 7th, when Palestinians had their cries live-streamed, calling for you to do what you can to put an end to this apocalypse, but you don’t care for brown kids.
So, with all things considered, forgive me if I am not amused by your tone deaf protest.
